Tungsten trioxide powder may be prepared by hydrothermal method with the advantages of complete particles, small particle size, uniform distribution, and good dispersibility, and may be used to produce thermal insulation coating.
The tungsten trioxide powder prepared by the hydrothermal method can directly synthesize the metal or its precursor, avoiding the process of converting to oxide by calcining in the general liquid phase synthesis method, thereby greatly reducing or even avoiding the formation of hard agglomeration. And it can effectively control the particle size, size distribution and morphology of the WO3 product.
It was reported in Sweden for the first time that a new phase of WO3 was prepared by the hydrothermal method --- cubic pyrochlore-type tungsten trioxide. Subsequently, some studies on the hydrothermal synthesis, structure and properties of this type of tungsten trioxide have been carried out, such as the relationship between the preparation conditions of hydrothermal synthesis and its crystal form.
