Preparation of Y2O3-WO3 Photocatalyst
Accurately weigh quantitative (99.0% analytically pure) Y2O3 into a 100mL beaker, then add 10mL of dilute nitric acid (volume fraction 10%) and stir to dissolve, add WO3 (analytical reagent with purity above 99.0%) in proportion to impregnate, and continuously stirring, heating and evaporating to a viscous state, drying at 100 °C for 3h, then calcining at 900 °C for 2h, and grinding with a mortar to obtain a composite Y2O3-WO3 photocatalyst.
The researchers also used the obtained Y2O3-WO3 photocatalyst to deeply treat the aqueous solution of acid red B (ARB), and achieved relatively satisfactory results.
Wherein, WO3 is also known as tungsten trioxide or yellow tungsten oxide. And it is often studied for large-scale application. While the photocatalytic property of single component of tungsten trioxide is not so good, therefore its catalytic properties are often enhanced through the semiconductor composite, metal-doped metal ions doping methods. And Y2O3-WO3 photocatalyst is the result for improving WO3’s photocatalytic property.
