CsxWO3, or Cs-doped tungsten bronze, as a kind of infrared thermal insulation nano material, may be prepared through hydrothermal synthesis with cesium carbonate and sodium tungstate as raw materials and citric acid as reducing agent. It can be made into coating for architectural glass or car glass.
Preparation of CsxWO3 Coating
Step one: Preparation of Cs-doped tungsten bronze slurry. The CsxWO3 particles were dispersed in aqueous solution to obtain dispersion slurry, and polyethylene glycol-400 was added as wetting agent, and then ball-milling (using zirconia ball) for 3h.
Step two: Preparation of Cs-doped tungsten bronze coating. The CsxWO3 slurry was sonicated, and the sonicated slurry was then added to the film forming solution, heated and stirred in water bath at 80°C, defoamer was added to continue heating and stirring, and coatings corresponding to film formers were obtained. PVA, PVB, and PVP are film formers.
Step three: Preparation of Cs-doped tungsten bronze film. Glasses were immersed in deionized water for ultrasonic cleaning, washed with acetone solution and ethanol solution respectively, and dried naturally at room temperature. Then, the prepared PVA/CsxWO3, PVB/CsxWO3, PVP/CsxWO3 coatings were then ultrasonically dispersed and applied to glasses by roller coating.
