Blue tungsten oxide (BTO) is one of many types of transparent thermal insulation material, which may be used to produce thermal insulation film and heat insulation paper. The BTO can be prepared by using APT as raw material and reducing under certain calcination conditions.
APT was used as raw material, and was reduced to blue tungsten oxide under certain calcination conditions. It was found that the morphology of APT affected the morphology of blue tungsten oxide obtained by reduction. APT is flower-like aggregate with a plurality of hexahedrons, which are bonded to each other with fine, regular and smooth surface. And the obtained blue tungsten oxide was observed and it was found that for these flower-like agglomerated particles, these APT particles are dispersed during the reduction process and become many hexahedral small particles with smooth surface, and a small number of flower-like particles are not dispersed and retained. These particles have smooth surface with few cracks.
