Preparation
Near spherical tungsten carbide powder can be prepared by ultra-high temperature melting inert gas atomization. The temperature should be above 2700°C. When atomized at 2800°C to 3000°C, the sphericity and spheroidization rate of the powder will increase as the atomization temperature increases. As the pressure of the atomizing gas increases, the sphericity of the resulting powder increases.
